To form a community trust, represented by the major Uiver Memorial stakeholders, to take ownership of the DC-2 “Uiver” from council. This significant community asset is the former centrepiece of the historic Uiver Memorial and will be reinstated as an Albury tourism icon.
To enrich the cultural life of Albury Wodonga by representing and interpreting the story of the 1934 landing of the Uiver at Albury Racecourse and the legacy of the heroic actions of the community of Albury and surrounds, that forms part of international aviation history and forged an important bond with the people of the Netherlands.
To strengthen local, domestic and international engagement in the cultural heritage of Albury through the exploration of all aspects of the Uiver event, the aircraft, and the history of the monument.
